  • To determine if I accept your insurance and to check your benefits, we do offer a free benefits checker  that you may check on our homepage. Additionally, you can utilize your HSA/FSA accounts to cover the costs of our services. Even if we accept your insurance, you do have every right to opt out of your insurance. Please reach out for further information on this.
  • Insurance processes can be complex. If you encounter difficulties, consider using a service like Mentaya, which is a concierge service that will not only tell you an estimation of your benefits and reimbursement, but can also manage the submission of superbills on your behalf, including negotiations with the insurance company and ensuring timely payments. For a small fee (that goes to them and not your therapist) you will be updated on the process, can reach out to their helpline for any questions and concerns, and do not have to worry about the back and forth of filing Superbills and keeping track of them yourself.
  • After you check your benefits and would like to move forward book an appointment today or please contact us at [email protected]. We are here to assist you in accessing the therapy you need while navigating the complexities of insurance coverage.

A superbill in therapy is like a special receipt. It lists the details of your therapy session, such as the date, diagnosis, and how much it cost. You can use this superbill to ask your insurance company for reimbursement if your therapy services are covered by your insurance plan. It is a way to show them what you paid for and get some of your money back.

  • Your insurance will be verified prior to your first session. You will be informed if you have a copay, coinsurance, deductible, or if your insurance is not accepted.
  • If you do not submit your insurance or opt out of using your insurance, we will assume you are private pay and you will not be given a Superbill. You will be expected to pay the full cost of the session.
  • If we do not accept your insurance, but you would like to use your out of network benefits you are able to request a Superbill or use our service Mentaya who will submit your Superbills for you and you will receive reimbursement faster than filing on your own.
  • *Please be aware that you may have met your deductible for the year by the time you begin therapy, however when a new year begins your deductible will reset and you’ll have to meet your deductible again before paying a copay or coinsurance again, so it is not uncommon for your cost to change due to insurance changes so be aware and well informed of your insurance plan to limit surprise charges. You will not be refunded for these charges and are ultimately responsible for the cost of therapy. If possible, we will try to inform you of changes prior to the next session if your rate has changed.

We would say that we excel at being accommodating and do our best at being understanding. However, after a session has been conducted, we do not refund a session if it did not meet your expectations or due to other reasons. If we overbilled or billed incorrectly then of course we will refund accordingly!

You are informed of your financial responsibility ahead of the session (or after if a late-cancellation or no-show but this is also found in your intake documents you sign at the beginning of treatment that you agree to) and lack of payment could be deemed ‘theft of services’ or result in us having to acquire payment through other means, such as through our collections agency or take legal action. We will reach out several times to try to resolve any concerns and offer a payment plan, hopefully before it reaches that point. We like to keep an open line of communication so if you ever feel something is lacking in your therapy sessions or dissatisfied with your therapist, please let us know as soon as possible so that we may have the chance to remedy it.

You might be able to get reimbursed for out-of-network therapy!

If you qualify, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. They charge a 5% fee per claim and have helped people get thousands of dollars back per year.

*Note: Mentaya’s goal is to save you time and money. It’s completely optional, and as your therapist I do not benefit in any way from your participation.
